My "typical" massage session combines Swedish/American Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, and Foot Reflexology. I also may use Aromatherapy, Magnet Therapy, Energy Balancing, Polarity Therapy and other techniques I've learned to enhance your personal massage session and reflect the state of your body at the time you come in. Massage sessions are most effective when repeated at least on a monthly basis. Please drink plenty of water after your massage and for the next couple of days afterward. This is designed to help your kidneys and liver work best to flush out the newly released toxins from your body. Failure to drink enough water, can result in the resettling in of the toxins and can make you feel queasy until the toxins are settled back down. Drinking plenty of water is a good habit to adopt daily.

Swedish/American Massage uses a system of long strokes, kneading, friction, percussive and vibration techniques on the more superficial layers of muscles, combined with passive movements of the joints. It is used primarily for full-body sessions and promotes stress relief, improves blood and lymph circulation, and is a good way to assist your body in cleansing itself.

Swedish-American massage is available in light, medium and firm pressure. This is the most common type of massage.

Deep Tissue Massage is a more direct approach to the body's muscular problem areas. Deep Tissue massage releases the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep pressure on the contracted areas, usually following the grain of muscles, tendons and fascia. Deep Tissue Massage is usually performed on specific muscles and sessions are limited to one or two areas at a time. Pressure is gradually increased to allow deeper muscular penetration and allows the muscles to adjust and release its old holding patterns. You, the client, are always in control and pressure is never exceeded beyond your comfort zone. These sessions are intense and effective.

Foot Reflexology is a massaging and pressure point therapy performed on the bottom and tops of your feet. The various pressure points relate to organs of the body and are very effective in reminding your body's organs and systems to work properly. Energy Balancing is a treatment that can be included into a Swedish-American or Deep Tissue Massage. Or, it can be a stand-alone treatment.

Energy balancing does not involve touching the body and can be performed on a clothed body. Sometimes called an "aura massage," it involves the manipulation of subtle energy that the body radiates. It is typically, performed on the seven chakras and can be combined with aroma to facilitate the balancing. Although I am not clairvoyant and not able to "see" the energy flow from the body, I am very capable of feeling the energy flow. Areas with too strong of an energy flow are utilized to help raise the energy levels of other parts of the body. Low energy can be raised with movements of my palms and with use of aroma.

Sports Massage is a style of massage and movements that help the body in recovery from various sports or weightlifting that you are involved in. Stretching movements facilitate in improving range-of-motion, speeding recovery, reducing injuries and enhancing performance. For weightlifters, it has the benefit of still allowing you to build muscle without becoming "muscle-bound," which refers to the severely reduced range-of-motion experienced by serious weightlifters. All sports have their specific muscles that are stressed and muscles that are prone to injury (ex. tennis elbow, football knee, etc.). This is very useful both pre-event and post-event.
